Untitled[edit]

Frankenthaler poured the paint straight on to the canvas then swirled it around. Danny

Ah right - I think getting rid of the word "drip" was probably right then (I wanted to avoid confusion because Louis did, literally, let paint drip - or maybe "flow" is a better way of putting it - from one edge of the canvas to the other). --Camembert

New Section[edit]

The Selected Museum Collections takes up a scary amount of space; is there a way to condense this? Also would be nice to expand the biography section to include critical reviews of his work over the years. Right now it sounds more like an official biography.Kitchawan (talk) 14:04, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'll turn it into a paragraph format...Modernist (talk) 14:32, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks very much! It's less eye-straining that way. A thought: Do other artists, past or present, have similar museum-collection sections? Should they?Kitchawan (talk) 18:47, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, many articles about recent artists have similar sections. The section for many artists helps to establish credibility. Especially helpful for some who have less than household reputations as it helps to establish notability. In Kenneth Noland's case these collections underscore the depth and relevance of his more than notable career, and gives real resonance to who he was as a painter. As to the sentence that you deleted from the lede - it isn't every artist who had so many solo exhibitions and museum exhibitions as Kenneth Noland however the lede is still ok without that sentence - perhaps a little overkill on my part...Modernist (talk) 19:55, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
