Isn't TADS 3 still incomplete? That's what I thought when I went to the TADS official page, and I haven't seen any evidence that TADS 3 is past the 'Early Adopters Only' stage --T-Boy 05:04, 9 Jun 2004 (UTC)

Well, whatever it is, I've added an extra paragraph at the end of the History section. Some newbie fumbling was involved (inserted the additional paragraph into the wrong section), for which I apologize. --T-Boy 05:39, 9 Jun 2004 (UTC)
No problem, T-Boy. Thanks for your great work! Keep it up! Adam Conover 00:17, Jun 10, 2004 (UTC)
Would it be reasonable to include Zinc (http://zinc-if.sourceforge.net/links.php) on the reference list? It's a collaborative interpreter for TADS and seems to be almost unique from what I can see from my search of Google... --Samque 20:53, 28 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Deletion[edit]

Frankly, why? A quick look at the XYZZY Awards site shows that from 1996 to 2006, many of the nominees and winners have been made using some form of the TADS engine. That's somewhat notable, at least for the purposes of keeping an article around. --FuegoFish 18:57, 1 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure what counts as notable or verifiable. TADS is mentioned in Nick Montfort's book _Twisty Little Passages_ (4 cites in the index) on the subject of interactive fiction. TADS is also mentioned in Graham Nelson's Inform Designer's Manual. One of the top ten games at the IF Ratings site is written in TADS. I see the Inform article lists seven notable games written in that language - I think I could come up with as many TADS games. Cendare 04:33, 2 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Please don't delete this entry! I specifically went looking for TADS on Wikipedia, because I knew WP was so thorough in its subject-matter & the article was very useful to me. In fact, I'm writing to propose an expansion of the search term. CC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.147.8.59 (talk) 18:35, 14 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't worry. This page is not in danger of being deleted. That talk is back from September. Eric119 (talk) 02:31, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I'm more worried as to why such impressive IF works as The Horror of Rylvania, Kissing the Buddha's Feet, The Plant, The Legend Lives! or Sunset over Savannah aren't listed. These were TADS games from when TADS was still quite popular. Then, Inform came and its ability to compile to the popular Infocom format won over. Still, such games are much too impressive and fun for not to deserve any mention. 189.11.192.130 (talk) 20:57, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Expansion of Search Term[edit]

The most modern version of TADS is TADS 3 (or TADS3, as you'll sometimes see it). Searching for 'TADS3' currently turns up no hits; can someone who knows how include TADS3 as a search term for this page? I would, but I don't know how to do that kind of Wikipedia magic. You may be wanting Help:Redirect, but I'm not sure. In any case I think I'll make some redirects. Eric119 (talk) 02:31, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
