Questionable date?[edit]

In this sentence at the start of the second paragraph:

Construction contracts were signed in August 1876 and the groundbreaking, at Eden Park in Cincinnati, was on September 1, 1876. The railroad, severely undercapitalized, went into receivership on April 19, 1876, and was sold by the receiver on March 20, 1880.

Should the receivership date be in 1877, '78 or '79? The sentence reads like these events all occurred in the sequence presented, yet the date given for the receivership is after the groundbreaking. I don't have a reference handy to look up this information. slambo 19:12, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC) And another further down...

... forced the TC&St.L into receivership in August 1883. On March 6, 1883, the company, struggling to reorganize, had merged the Cincinnati Northern and the Spring Grove, Avondale, and Cincinnati Railway into the TC&St.L. On June 28, 1884, the Ohio part of the company was sold at auction.

Should the reorganization date be 1884? slambo 19:30, Dec 13, 2004 (UTC)

Tunnel[edit]

This article has nothing at all about the tunnel or the longer never-completed tunnel in Cincinnati. There also seems to be more corporate history. There's no information on when Pennsy operations began; was it self-operated until the 1925 merger? --NE2 09:30, 15 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I'm going to see what I can do to "rescue" this article. --NE2 06:02, 9 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maps[edit]

D&C, TC&StL, both northern branches, appears to show the old grade to Sharon, line to Waynesville

FA criteria[edit]

The article falls short of FA criteria, for example not citing a source for all information. If not addressed, it will go to featured article review. (t · c) buidhe 19:27, 21 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am less concerned about the sourcing of information as outlined by buidhe above, although an expert should do a deep dive at the information and make sure it is verified by the sources. Rather, my main concern is that the majority of references are to one source, John W. Hauck. I searched through some databases and found additional sources that look promising; if someone is willing to research for this article I can help find sources. Two books are cited. Is there a problem with either of them? RussNelson (talk) 21:37, 28 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@RussNelson: My concern is not with the sources, it is the overreliance on Hauck. Are there other sources that can be consulted? Z1720 (talk) 01:55, 7 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
