dab[edit]

I disambiguated the second paragraph. Saying that the police officer murdered the gunman is grossly misleading, and possibly libelous. As the gunman had shot several people, and killed three, the police officer was merely carrying out his duties by killing the gunman. Rje 17:54, 9 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Removed Link[edit]

I removed the link to the Italian Black Label Society Chapter. Although Zakk Wylde & Dime were very closely associated, this link had nothing to do with this article or band. --66.222.240.194 19:51, 2 July 2006 (UTC)jay[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Damageplan - New Found Power.jpg[edit]

Image:Damageplan - New Found Power.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:41, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Vinnie Paul Abbott[edit]

Throughout the article "Vinnie Paul Abbott" is referred to simply as "Paul", which is strange to me because that is his middle name. I've never heard of him being called "Paul" before reading this article. 142.162.43.37 (talk) 18:12, 17 February 2008 (UTC) Abbott could refer to either of the brothers'. M3tal H3ad (talk) 05:53, 19 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I guess someone went in and changed Vinnie Paul Abbott's name to simply "Abbott" but as M3tal H3ad above said, this could refer to either brother as both their last names are Abbott. He was commonly referred to as "Vinnie Paul." This should be changed because in the article many times there is "Darrel and Abbott" worded when Darrel is an Abbott. It could create confusion. It should be worded as "Darrel and Vinnie Paul" or maybe even "Darrel and Vinnie," although I have only heard him called "Vinnie Paul." Feral Mind (talk) 03:35, 26 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA on hold[edit]

  • "While promoting the album at a concert on 8 December 2004, a former U.S. marine named Nathan Gale..." - it sounds like the Marine was promoting the album...
  • ref 1 - publisher is musicOMH (not musicohm...typo and all)
  • "A search for a vocalist ensued and a demo of the song "Crawl" was sent to former Halford guitarist Pat Lachman who auditioned for vocalist as Rob Halford rejoined Judas Priest" - needs commas/reword
  • "Christine Klunk of PopMatters commenting" - PopMatters doesn't go in italics
    • "Christine Klunk of PopMatters disliked" - again
  • "who were injured on December 8" - wlink date
  • "although declined the offer" - although --> but
  • "leading up to December 8" - again, wlink dates throughout

Leave a note on my talk page when done. Cheers, dihydrogen monoxide (H20) 23:46, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Genre(s)[edit]

I gave the genres in the infobox sources and added two genres (with sources!). I hope that's ok. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 172.173.11.119 (talk) 20:40, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

what a joke...[edit]

You don't really believe that any of the sources provided provide any support to DP being groove metal (which they're not), do you? Heavy.com is user-posted content - I wouldn't trust something written by "orobas666", and just because Dimebag and his bands "pioneered" groove metal doesn't necessarily mean they are groove metal. Pantera has other sources to answer that claim, DP does not. I have never seen the other source before. I question its reliability; I'd have seen it many more times if they were a good enough publication to list. Danny from IP 104.39.26.229 (talk) 17:56, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You've got a point there. What about the other reference? Boomer VialBe ready to fight the horde!Contribs 18:18, 8 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Per the above, suspicious at best. I'd have seen it plenty more often, and I've certainly never seen it on a Featured Article, of all things. 104.39.26.229 (talk) 18:59, 9 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I actually looked at the link to orobas666. he published multiple articles and it says author instead of user. I also couldn't find a create account/login thing on heavy.com. I do think Damageplan are groove metal. they sound similar to Pantera. Here are Damageplan songs that are groove metal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hAG-REqWzNY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVeoPkU8LN8 Statik N (talk) 00:34, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Do you have a source for the second one? That's a thrash/nu metal hybrid to me. I don't have the sources to say that, but I can disagree with groove metal. Also, do you know if it's possible to find if he has connections to other websites that are at all reliable? dannymusiceditor Speak up! 01:18, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
