What news reporters call it is not what locals call it. It's Ver sail ees, and if you don't like it don't use your personal objections to play WikiPolice. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.228.228.143 (talk) 23:18, 19 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I just checked with half a dozen people who live in Versailles, and none of them said they pronounce it with three syllables. Fryede (talk) 15:45, 20 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I grew up there, it is definitely pronounced ver-sails; others in the counties north of the town pronounce it ver-zails, but it is still a two-syllable pronunciation. Call the mayor of you don't believe us. Or John Boehner; he's been there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.238.177.205 (talk) 02:24, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
You folks do realize that absolutely none of the above matters, right? It isn't what is true that gets published here, it is what you can prove is true with citations to reliable sources, not original research, like asking people or calling the mayor. "Unpublished interviews" would count as reliable sources in a doctoral thesis. :) Fryede (talk) 14:32, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This isn't a thesis, it is an encyclopedia. By definition, encyclopedias are tertiary sources and therefore only talk about what secondary sources are covering. A doctoral thesis wouldn't be a valid reference either, as it is primary. A thesis published in a reviewed journal, however, could, as the journal is a secondary source. Hi. An IP editor keeps adding in a bunch of info pertaining to the high school, even tho the high school has its own page and it is linked on this one. Why would you have a link if you intended to include the content here. Why not just add it to the high school's article? John from Idegon (talk) 05:19, 8 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]
