Date of birth[edit]

One source says January 27, 1907...?

The Association of Football Statisticians [1] says January 22, and they seem a fairly reliable source of information. ToffeeWeb also uses the same date [2]. Qwghlm 16:03, Mar 30, 2005 (UTC)

Possible NPOV violation[edit]

"Dixie was a real legend of the game. His dribbling, running, shooting and ability to create goals for others were exceptional." The above paragrapgh seems a little too enthusiastic, sounds like one written by a biased fan. Could be improved.Avman M 22:45, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]


I've added the following to the text: "However the Tranmere Rovers historian Gilbert Upton uncovered evidence that it is a corruption of his childhood knickname, Digsy - a name aquired from his apporach to the children's game of tag, where Dean would dig his fist into the girl's back, hence 'Digsy'".

I have no clue as to add a reference. In the hope that someone better versed than I in the ways of wiki can add references, the information is from 'Dixie Dean of Tranmere Rovers 1923-1925 by Gilbert Upton, ISBN 0 9518648 1 5.

Everton website discrepancy[edit]

http://www.evertonfc.com/players/d/dd/dixie-dean shows 383 goals, but wiki shows 395? 46.7.195.132 (talk) 07:18, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Career Statistics[edit]
