Highjacking of page

There is a concerted effort to rework the page along these lines:

• The group is Adventist
• They are associated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church
• Koresh lead an unauthorized offshoot of Branch Davidians
• The true Branch is a group of 12 people who are members in a association

None of these things are true. No 12 person group is worthy of an encyclopedia page. Branch Davidians are NOT remotely connected to Adventists except as some former members may have left the Adventist church or been disfellowshipped. What the world knows as Branch Davidians is the group that died at Waco. The Waco survivors ceased to exist as a religious group of any consequence. I will seek page protection and or other measure to preserve the integrity and usefulness of this page if this effort is not stopped and the accurate information restored. There should be separate articles for the Students of the Seven Seals (the group led by Koresh) and the Branch Davidians, because even today there are Branch Davidians around and in order to keep this article neutral and avoid any smear towards that group.Ernio48 (talk) 23:21, 27 February 2018 (UTC)

Are the Branch Davidians and David Koresh the same thing?

  The Branch Davidians had their identity stolen by David Koresh.  They are not at all a part of his group like the article starts to state.  Basically the  Branch Davidians prophet was Victor Houteff they had more and their current prophet is Trent Wilde. (Correction: The original Branch Davidian prophet was Benjamin Roden.)

Symbolism on their flag?

I'm not clear what the symbolism is on their flag (e.g., Star of David on Christian sect's banner and a serpent). If anyone knows of a RS to add that, I think it would have some value.--Surv1v4l1st ^{╠Talk║Contribs╣} 02:46, 10 March 2022 (UTC)

This is the fundamental problem with the term "Branch Davidian"

A major thing happened during the Passover season of 1984 in the Branch Davidian movement. It splintered into several factions and was never unified again. One of these factions was of course the "Branch Davidians" that came to national attention in 1993. But you can make a very good case that these people are not actually Branch Davidians. For example, one of the surviving members, David Thibedeau, complained that he had never heard of Branch Davidians and considered himself a "Student of the Seven Seals." Also, there is documentation that they called themselves at one point Davidian-Branch-Davidians. The reason the media ended up calling them "Branch-Davidians" in 1993 is for lack of a better term. Bible Students is too generic, and "Students of the Seven Seals" is too much of a mouthful. Koreshians seems like a good choice but while he was alive, Koresh himself forbad that title to be used by his followers. Dbunds (talk) 16:50, 14 March 2023 (UTC)

WP uses most commonly known names in order to title their articles (see WP:UCRN). Although the people who are subjects of this article called themselves "Students of the Seven Seals", the article is called the Branch Davidians because that is the most recognizable name to most people. --Jacquesparker0 (talk) 01:03, 15 March 2023 (UTC)

An armed taking of the building, then? This is significant since it is still claimed that when the ATF arrived, they were just a bible group in their own home, minding their own business and thus in no way terrorists.
