Bot needs approval[edit]

big butts

looks like this account is running an unapproved bot. I have blocked the account for 31 hours to stop its bot and to get the attention of its user. For the record, the bot looks fairly noncontroversial, but all bots on en.wikipedia need specific permission to run. Please go to Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval and request a specific permission to continue to use this bot. If you have any further questions during the period of this block, please leave a note on this page, and I will watch and answer any questions you have. Once it has been assured that the bot is no longer running its script, an admin can lift the block. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 00:57, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
This bot has permission to operate on enwiki, see [1]. --Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 02:42, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm. I will bring this up at WP:ANI in the current discussion. Perhaps such a botflag needs to be more prominent on the Userpage of this bot. User:Betacommand, okie is on the bot approval team, has been brought on board to investigate. Hold on a few seconds while we work this out. I apologize if this has caused you any inconvenience, but the action of this account has been brought into question by another user, and we are just performing due dilligence in our investigation. As I said, this bot isn't doing anything I would consider problematic, but it will remain blocked for a short time while we sort all of this out. Thank you for your patience. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 03:09, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry about that. Uncle G has set us all straight. Please accept my humble apology for overstepping my bounds. The relevent comment by Uncle G is here. [2]. Again, I only did so because it seemed this was running counter to policy, and someone brought it up at ANI. The block has been lifted. Please continue. --Jayron32.talk.contribs 03:15, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Heh, I see that discussion page dissolved into quite a bit of drama. Anyway this was no problem really, I've restarted the bot. --Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 06:32, 22 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Celt[edit]

Take a look at what it just did to Celt —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dougweller (talkcontribs)

For reference this [3] [4] is what you're talking about. And yes it looks like an error in the pywikipedia library, I've upgraded it and don't notice this issue anymore. --Ævar Arnfjörð Bjarmason 11:50, 8 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
