The citation for this is a personal website that claims it without giving a source. I can't find evidence of it. Does anyone have a RS (ideally BIPM) for this? 128.12.245.10 (talk) 08:00, 20 April 2017 (UTC)
S used as an SI prefix?[edit]
In this page i came across this: The initial letters were changed because s and h, from previously proposed ascending hepta and descending septo, were already used as SI units and prefixes (in German, septo would be pronounced as English zepto), and because the o of octa/octo could be confused with zero. I checked the SI prefixes and none have the letter S as their symbol. Also the article clearly states: or if letters such as S and T, which are already in use as SI units or prefixes, will again be skipped. Are there any SI prefixes using the letter S as their symbol? - S, s, and H are SI units, while hour is an accepted non-SI unit. Adding them as prefixes would create confusion. Jeblad (talk) 19:54, 2 November 2019 (UTC)
quecca and ronna[edit]
Proposed new ones for 10^27, 10^30. "If approved, the new terms could be formally introduced in 2022. They would be the first prefixes added since 1991." [1] Tom Ruen (talk) 18:42, 15 February 2019 (UTC)

x, w, v prefixes[edit]
Although these old speculations are now about to be overtaken, the x and v prefixes did make it into Greg Egan's Schild's Ladder with its "vendeks" and "xennobes". Shame about the w, though. :) Double sharp (talk) 20:22, 18 October 2022 (UTC)
