Disambiguation?[edit]

"Corcovado" also means "hunchback" in Spanish, and among other things is a rather famous national park in Costa Rica -- probably better known than this mountain. Should a Brazilian mountain take precedence and relegate the rest? I'm not so sure. --186.32.181.189 (talk) 16:14, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Note about the photo[edit]

The original photo on the page was of the statue on top of the mountain. Although the statue is among the mountain's key landmarks, there is a broader way to visualize the article's content. For that reason I swapped in a photo of the mountain itself, with the statue still visible atop its peak. The original photo was taken by me and I have released all rights to it.

Note that there is a separate article about the statue itself and a closeup photo of it more appropriately appears there.

isn't there a higher quality photo of Corcovado - this one is quite fuzzy? although there is a separate article on the statue itself, the image of Cristo Redentor is still worth to be placed here! --menphrad 08:34, 11 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Note about the location[edit]

After updating the quoted location from 22°57'5.95"S 43°12'36.83"W to 22°57'8.7"S 43°12'42"W I noticed your comment differentiating between the mountain and the statue (until reading your comment I though that "Corcovado" reffered to the statue, as was told to me by my Brazilian wife). So should I edit the location back to the original and give the new location (which points to the base of the status according to Google map) to the entry about the statue?

Dates[edit]

Just a passerby who noticed the railroad is said to have been refurbished 4 years prior to the date it was opened.

I love it, I have been there, from Boston, Ma now am taking my boys from Montana lisa B —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.121.238.210 (talk) 16:04, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia[edit]

I removed the miscellaneous list of non-sequiturs in the euphemistically titled "Popular culture" section. Some of the these--such as the famous Jobim song, for example--can already be found on the disambiguation page, and any others worth saving can be added to the disambiguation page. Since there are some 300,000 visitors per year, do we really need the names of the "Notable past visitors". What is the purpose of giving just these five names?81.109.19.234 (talk) 12:33, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
