Link(s) to "Cardinal Albornoz"[edit]

Rather than [[cardinal]] [[Gil Alvarez De Albornoz]], just [[Gil Alvarez De Albornoz|Cardinal Albornoz]], with one fewer distracting link: anyone who feels the need to look at an article cardinal in this connection will also, a fortiori, need to look at Albornoz; and the Albornoz article links to the article cardinal. In general, there's starting to be too many pointless links in the articles (like linking [[English language|English]] every time it is stated what some foreign-language term is in English....) Pronunciation[edit]

Particularly, it's more along the lines of /æˈsiːˌsi/, which neither of your transcriptions matches. This is especially the case for, well, any accent used outside the US. 21:01, 10 February 2006 (UTC)

Upon checking four reference books (The Random House Webster's Unabridged Dictionary,^[1] Merriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary,^[2] The Columbia Encyclopedia^[3] and the World Book Encyclopedia) it appears as if you don't know what you're talking about :-). The æ symbol you added is for a short /a/ (ă) as in hat. But, in Italian, the a is pronounced ä as in , and in English ə (ŭ) as in but. If you want to be pretentious about it and use the IPA, at least use the correct symbols. --Primetime 22:17, 10 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

In peacemaking mode here — why not eliminate the pronunciation altogether? Wickedpedia doesn't usually include pronunciations, and very very few other articles on Italian towns in the area have them, even where pronunciations might be welcome (e.g. Bevagna). It's not as if Assisi after all were pronounced Kordali, people are likely to pronounce more or less correctly without assistance. Bill 22:29, 11 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The pronunciations are clear enough: /əˈsiːzi/, /əˈsiːsi/ per the OED, which matches what we had above. The Italian pronunciation is irrelevant; this is a common English word now. kwami (talk) 06:40, 10 December 2007

The article states:

Cultural section modified[edit]

Hi everyone, I modified the cultural section a lot just now - I changed the wording so that it sounds more neutral and less like a travel guide, and I removed the external link (it's a normal reference now). I also marked a sentence that needs to be more specific. I accidentally marked my change as minor, so I'm leaving this comment here in case someone wonders what's going on.
