Origin[edit]

What is the origin of this list? Can you cite references? Mr. Jones 12:53, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)

This list should either be improved to add short descriptions and/or merged onto the memory bias article or maybe the list of cognitive biases article. Headlouse 01:39, 16 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Is this article in violation of WP:NOT#DIR?[edit]

Can this information be expressed in more of an encyclopedic fashion, and less like a list? -- weirdoactor t|c 21:06, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think you're right: this article should probably be moved to Memory bias (which will require administrative intervention, as Memory bias has history from before it became a redirect to List of memory biases) and made more like a normal article. (Lists aren't inherently bad, but in this case there doesn't seem to be any advantage of alphabetical-list over some sort of structured-and-weighted article.) —RuakhTALK 21:48, 27 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained[edit]

The "Lag effect," "List-length effect," and "Processing difficulty effect" are not explained in the article, nor do they link to anything to explain them. What are they? Dude1818 (talk) 04:24, 25 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It has been suggested that List of memory biases be merged into List of cognitive biases[edit]

  • Support - makes perfect sense, can't think why this has been outstanding since August! Pesky (talkstalk!) 13:43, 25 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - the list of cognitive biases is going to be renamed "List of biases in judgement and decision making". I think there's a case for memory as a separate category. MartinPoulter (talk) 21:50, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Placement effect and Subadditivity effect[edit]

These are well established as biases of judgement, but I don't recall seeing these being described as memory biases. Can we please have quotes from the sources that establish them specifically as memory biases? MartinPoulter (talk) 21:52, 14 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Wine tasting biases[edit]

I'm not an expert, but should any food or beverage tasting biases be added as examples to this article? Such as color biases or geographic origin bias for wine tasting? There are similar biases for beer and food. see Wine tasting#Blind tasting for examples. If yes, then please add to this article. • SbmeirowTalk • 11:49, 10 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

False Memory[edit]

False memory ought to be in the see also section. With the popularity of the "Mandela Effect" in popular culture it seems like it belongs somewhere on this page. It's certainly related. (This is my first time editing Wikipedia so I'm nervous to actually do it myself, in case it doesn't belong.) 67.141.61.118 (talk) 16:17, 30 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
