Legacy[edit]

The first three paragraphs under 'legacy' might be spot on, but they are open to question, since they offer assessment without any references. One would like to see the source for Feller's remarks. If it's not original research, perhaps a knowledgeable party can provide cites. 99.155.206.57 (talk) 01:52, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unhappily, this is not a well referenced article. Every paragraph in that Legacy section should have references. I do not have the time or inclination to do it, besides the material that I added, that is referenced (the James and ESPN material) keeps getting deleted by Ryan admirers. Someone really needs to take this article in hand.--Wehwalt (talk) 02:07, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If the deletions continue page protection can be requested; that would be a good time for an interested editor to hunt up and add cites. 99.155.206.57 (talk) 02:12, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
First, find your interested editor! There lies the problem. No one is interested enough to do a really good job on this article.--Wehwalt (talk) 02:16, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
There must be an objective baseball scholar in the state of Texas. Failing that, I nominate my favorite baseball writer [1], should he tire of his day job. 99.155.206.57 (talk) 02:27, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why is dogs linked in the image caption? Might as well link "plaque" in the next image caption. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 72.177.92.70 (talk) 06:34, 6 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This article needs more pictures, if I met Nolan Ryan right after reading this article I would never recognize him. -RG —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.254.82.141 (talk) 06:22, 4 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Error at End[edit]

Hi. Cimmaron Hills is NOWHERE NEAR Georgetown Texas, not the same county even. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.171.160.200 (talk) 16:45, 12 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Retired numbers[edit]

It says that "He is also one of only seven players to have different numbers retired by two MLB teams, with Carlton Fisk (Red Sox and White Sox), Reggie Jackson (Athletics and Yankees), Rollie Fingers (Brewers and Athletics), Hank Aaron (Brewers and Braves), Greg Maddux (Braves and Cubs), and Jackie Robinson (All MLB) being the others."

I'd question the phrase "different numbers," as Aaron and Maddux have the same number retired by two teams.WHPratt (talk) 17:22, 13 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Edit requested on 10 January 2014[edit]

Under the section of "Later Activity" The sentence: Nolan Ryan is a Beefmaster Cattleman and runs his own beef company, producing organic beef.[29] Needs to change to: Nolan Ryan is a Beefmaster Cattleman and runs his own beef company, Nolan Ryan Beef. Producing All-Natural beef.

Not done, "organic" is a more precise term than "all-natural"; hence I see no reason to make this change. Altamel (talk) 02:14, 23 February 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Houston Astros special assistant[edit]

This is currently a single sentence section. More is needed. What if any association in maintained with the Texas Rangers? Secondly at this time - mid September, until now the Houston Astros have been in first place in the division most of the year- and were in last place last year. How much of this could be credited to Nolan? Wfoj3 (talk) 21:22, 20 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
