Unnamed section[edit]

The linked-to flyingclodhopper.com has recently expired - I've commented out the links rather than deleting them so that if the domain becomes active again they can easily be reinserted. Ergative rlt 20:16, 18 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Steve Gerber template that appears at the bottom of the page, is this really needed? There's already a wiki-link to Steve Gerber at the very top of the page and the template has very little to do with Thundarr directly. I'm commenting it out. Oed 17:51, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The Samurai Jack reference in the "allusions" section is totally unsubstantiated (and the resemblance between the Imakandi from Jack and the Hunters isn't all that strong. He does, however, resemble Zandor, leader of the Herculoids (just as Ariel resembles Zandor's mate Tarra.)[reply]

No mention of Thundarr as a character?[edit]

Some minor changes[edit]

Removed the wiki link to "Ookla the Mok (band)" because the article is called "Thundarr", not "Ookla"- no clarification is necessary. Removed the word "supposedly" and the line "(more resembling a comet)" from the sentence "The shattered moon and the ruins of the former human civilization were supposedly caused by the passage of a runaway planet (more resembling a comet) between the Earth and the Moon in 1994..." Apparently both stating and showing the runaway planet was not sufficient to convince the author of that sentence that it actually happened. The author's opinion of what the planet resembles does not belong in a wiki article. Removed the line about the cowboy's shout because...well, because it was kinda stupid. Removed the NEN/Meltdown reference, since there is no proof of the show's existence, much less the alleged Thundarr parody.

If this type of thing ever gets added as a section, this show is spoofed in the recent Nickelodeon Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3D animated show. Rotoscoping[edit]

An article in Starlog and other sources at the time of its airing said the first few episodes were made by rotoscoping, but too much jiggling of the woman showed through especially when riding a horse. It garnered climbing ratings because of this and it was mention in several media sources. But protests of that kind of sexuality on a Saturday morning cartoon arose and the rest of the series was filmed conventionally. The ratings rapidly fell. river pirate Comment[edit]

In one of the episodes, the river pirates use the landing top of the Essex-class aircraft carrier USS Shangri-La (CV/CVA/CVS-38) as thier decking of their wooden pirate ship.
