Ninilchik Russian language[edit]

User:Olegwiki just posted this very interesting link on the Russian America article; some of its history shoudl be integrated here, I'll suggest it to him..... I also added the Indigenous peoples wikiproject, which should be added to all Alaskan communities with dominant indigenous-origin populations...Skookum1 (talk) 16:44, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I have redirected the Ninilchik Russian article here, as it was a one-line stub and already covered in this article. Also, all of the sources were self published websites, so it is not really verified properly that this is recognized by linguists as a separate and distinct dialect. There is a academic publication in Russian by Kibrik that recognizes the Ninilchik language as a dialect. Link in the refs in ru:Нинильчикский_диалект_русского_языка. Also he wrote book in English, probably it's self published. 85.140.186.85 (talk) 02:58, 20 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Air miles"[edit]

I believe this term was being used because it is substantially longer by road, maybe we should clarify that. "As the crow flies" it is only 100 miles, but according to The Milepost it is 188 miles via the highway. Between Cook Inlet and the mountains the options for road building in this area were rather limitedBeeblebrox (talk) 04:56, 3 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
