Remastered versions

• The album seems to have been remastered and released numerous times by different labels with different bonus tracks on each release, not just the 2003 version by Charly. What's the reason for this? 29 March 2016 revert

Various Yardbirds and Eric Clapton articles have been the subject of long-term WP:Disruptive editing by an IP using various 93.41.*, 93.42.*, and other addresses (see The Yardbirds discography 24 December 2009 – 9 March 2014[1]; Eric Clapton 20 February 2014[2] – present[3]). Although some edits are harmless, many ignore basic WP policies and guidelines on original research and verifiability. In some articles, the IPs have repeatedly changed dates, chart position numbers, etc. without any justification, references, or explanations. They do not use reliable sources, provide edit summaries, or engage in discussion, even when requested to do so.

On Five Live Yardbirds, the 29 March 2016 IP edit involved a wholesale revert to corrections to the infobox, which had been made to bring it into compliance with WP policies and guidelines.[4]. Please see the above for the explanation of the IP's pattern of WP:Disruptive editing. Each of my edits summaries (four times so far for this particular article) have included the request that the IP editor discuss the issues. However, he has refused to do so and continues to revert. I considered it, but the RfPP log shows frequent declined requests for "not enough recent activity" or "semi-protected for a period of 1 week". This is a much slower and longer term problem. —Ojorojo (talk) 15:01, 21 April 2016 (UTC)

Release date

Hey Ojorojo: I managed to get a hold of Greg Russo's book and have been having fun flipping through it. I noticed the current version of this article uses the second edition of his book (1998) to source December 4, 1964, as the release date. I have the fourth edition (2002) which instead says "late December [1964]" on one page (p. 28) and December 31, 1964 on another (p. 201). Based on your edits on other articles, I take it you have the sixth edition of his book (2016). Does it corroborate the December 31 dating, or has he revised it again? @Tkbrett: I'm not surprised that there are inconsistencies. There has been a lot of disruptive editing on Clapton-era YB articles and some things got overlooked. I started out using Russo's 1998 "updated first edition" and the booklet to Rhino's 2001 Ultimate!, which was prepared by Russo and Doug Hinman. Both used 12/31/64 as the release date. I later began using Russo's 2016 edition, which gives the date as 12/4/64 on both pp. 25 & 213 (he was granted access to a lot of the original tape boxes, etc.) So the current dates are correct, but the citations need to be updated. I'll double-check other YB articles to see that the most current edition is used and that the citations are correct. Thanks for pointing this out. —Ojorojo (talk) 15:37, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

Roberty, Marc, Eric Clapton: The Complete Recording Sessions 1963 - 1995, St. Martin’s Press, New York, 1993, has the release as being, "Columbia 33SX 1677, released February 1965." Carptrash (talk) 16:18, 8 June 2023 (UTC)

Ha! In Roberty's Slowhand: The Life & Music of Eric Clapton (also 1993) he uses December 1964. I've also seen January 1965, but Russo seems to have the most inside info. He compiled Cumular Limit and Glimpses 1963–1968 with the group's blessings and contributed to the liner notes for Ultimate! and Little Games Sessions & More. —Ojorojo (talk) 16:48, 8 June 2023 (UTC)
