I have made some cuts to the new material (now 2nd pagraph of lead) to try to make it less subjective. It isn't really perfect, so further editing is very welcome. Apologies to the anonymous editor, but the Wikipedia regulars tend to frown on material they view as excessively fan-ish (in fact, this nearly lead to the deletion of Hayley Jensen's article). Gay Icon Project

In my effort to merge the now-deleted list from the article Gay icon to the Gay icons category, I have added this page to the category. I engaged in this effort as a "human script", adding everyone from the list to the category, bypassing the fact-checking stage. That is what I am relying on you to do. Please check the article Gay icon and make a judgment as to whether this person or group fits the category. By distributing this task from the regular editors of one article to the regular editors of several articles, I believe that the task of fact-checking this information can be expedited. But she has no regrets - not even her outfit and hairstyle during her Sunday night performance which inspired judge Mark Holden to tell she looked like "Mickey Mouse on bad acid". "I wouldn't have done anything differently. Even the outfit on Sunday night - I thought it was hilarious. It was my own personal sending up of myself," she says of what was intended to be her "geisha style" outfit.

knew the 3 judges were going to hate it! don't ask me how i knew, i just did... it was wasn't the sort of song they were expecting me to do and that was largely a factor in my choice. it had a great melody and the potential to be a fantastic rag-time tune (although it turned out i wasn't allowed the interpretation i wanted) whilst i'm sure that the lyrics were heartfelt, i feel it's also a very childish sentiment conveyed and i could neverbelieve in such malicious revenge enough to sing it seriously.... i also wanted to show that i'm not a musical snob and that i really don't think clothes are important. it's about being comfortable and i enjoyed the song immensely. it pushed me to sing in a different style, more so than if i had chosen a song like 'sexual healing' and experimanting with different music is something i love to do. anyway... when the judges started i couldn't help but laugh as it all went exactly as i imagined it would i do love acting very very much, have had more experience in theatre than film... only one nz student film to my file - was a rather intense experience about abortion, which i never want to endure...it was filmed in an actual abortion clinic and being on the little foam plank that passes for a table with my feet in the stirrups was one of the most disturbing moments of my life. i am pro choice but i would never wish the experience on anybody. what a horrible harrowing thing to have to go through.
