And what's with you pouring cold water on my enthusiasm, anyway? If someone was to try to build this up to featured status, how could that be anything but good? Ol' Rip is famous; apparently they have local celebrations to mark his anniversary and he's something of a tourist attraction. While alive, he was a celebrity and even met the president. Ol' Rip & Loony Tunes' Michigan J. Frog.[edit]

I do not know if the tie-in is as certain as the folklore; but the Warner Brothers cartoon of the frog, Michigan J. Frog, coming out of the cornerstone and with top hat and cane, singing "Hello my baby" is no doubt related. Other than the association in the minds of many, does anyone have anything more substantial as to the link between that and the Ol' Rip story? --cregil (talk) 06:47, 22 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
