Removals[edit]

I've removed the River Ken, as I can find no reference to this. I've also removed the River Holbourne, as this is a synonym for the upper reaches of the River Fleet. The Langbourne appears to be an alleged river - for which no proof has ever been found. I've created an article accordingly, but this may need correcting if anyone can find a better reference somewhere. Thanks, Ian Cairns 00:50, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I've added the Langbourne back in under the name Lorteburn, which is the one the archaeologists seem to have settled upon. There are now adequate sources to confirm its existence. --Agrestis (talk) 11:37, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Tyburn[edit]

Okay, there might not be any sources strong enough to completely deny the claims of the Tyburn flowing through the antique shop's basement. However the images posted here and here should be enough to allow for a "supposedly" in front of the statement, since that water looks nothing like what you see on the photo in the article. --Baumi (talk) 16:12, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Recent edits[edit]

I removed "passing mentions" in fiction re WP:IPC. None of the books were about subterranean rivers. The River Wandle flows above ground. This strong source states that there is no evidence the Langbourne ever existed. The river on the North bank of the Thames do not all flow East to West, as stated. Muswell Stream vs River Moselle[edit]

I'm having trouble finding a difference between the Muswell Stream (it has a redlink in the article) and the River Moselle (which is bluelinked) in online sources. Most of them seem to fudge the difference, even if they acknowledge it to start with. The source provided for both Muswell Stream and River Moselle only mentions the former; the context seems to reference the latter.

Are these two waterways, or are they, as I suspect, just the one with two different names? ◦ Trey Maturin 18:23, 2 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Langbourne[edit]

I have added back in a section for the Langbourne. The original of this section was removed in 2012 by one editor without discussion. I have expanded and rewritten the original text of the section and added additional references for why this stream probably existed. It should probably be expanded to a full article.
