Fair use rationale for Image:Gernsample.ogg[edit]

Image:Gernsample.ogg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Lao spelling[edit]

I wonder about the spelling of the Lao word "ລຳໂຈທຍ໌". Lao spelling is usually completely phonetic, avoiding silent letters, and only using the letters for the voiced stops for syllable-final stops. In accordance with these rules, I would argue that the proper Lao spelling of this word should be "ລຳໂຈດ". V85 (talk) 22:01, 29 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have managed to get hold of a Lao dictionary. While it contains neither 'ລຳໂຈທຍ໌' nor 'ລຳໂຈດ', it does have the word 'ໂຈດ' with the same meaning as the Thai 'โจทย์'. I would therefore argue that the proper Lao spelling should be 'ລຳໂຈດ', as I suggested earlier. V85 (talk) 16:59, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Miller/Garland citations[edit]

Miller is listed in Sources with three entries, including the Garland Encyclopedia. The Miller citations in the body of the article are unclear: to which source do they refer? I am not familiar with these works so have not tried to fix. Seligne (talk) 18:58, 5 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Isan people has never protested to be annexed to Laos. It's Laotians who always keep up with Thailand and has been keeping up with Thai media over decades. Hi there! I'm confused by your issue with the article. The article does not say those artists are from Laos. The first sentence of the article says it is music from Laos and Isan. It does not say Isan is part of Laos. Ronsaur (talk) 04:59, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
. The article does not say those artists are from Laos, but don't bother mentioning they're Thai? MTha2557 (talk) 05:39, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
- There are at least 50 Lao-subethnic in Isan region and Laos. There's no one Lao. 7 million people should not speak for 20 million people. Stop claiming Isan is Laos. Laos doesn't consist of one ethnic group either. MTha2557 (talk) 05:42, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Morlam had its birth in the Lao heartlands of Laos, where it remains a popular art form. ---> claim to be the origin, but there are only 3-4 Laotian artists from the lists. MTha2557 (talk) 05:49, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
