Sargeant William Jasper[edit]

Sgt. Jasper fought in the Red Stick War, not the American Revolution. This falsity was widely spread when a booklet entitled "The History of Jasper" was circulated by the Chamber of Commerce. The booklet claimed numerous untrue events, which were not researched and based on rumor.

Please don't add yourself to the notable residents list just because you do something that people on your street or in your small part of town might recognize you for.
