the term "recently" is used here - ambiguous and non-encyclopedic, any source? (clem 19:09, 25 Apr 2005 (UTC))

As I wrote on the TNG talk page, I am actually certain that the expanded acronym for VISOR did appear in the very first novelization, "Encounter At Farpoint." So it isn't a post-production addition or backronym. BarkingDoc 01:04, 28 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Wasn't there a "making of" / documentary episode (Farpoint, I think) that Geordi actually states the whole acronym? Darkpoet 16:37, 21 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, LeVar Burton mentions Visual Input Sensory Optical Reflector in a documentary about season 1. The acronym's different from what's in the article, but I have no objections, since it wasn't exactly mentioned on the actual show. --Kjoonlee 21:29, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Does anyone know the episodes that "...first by Q and later by Doctor Katherine Pulaski" refers to? - Anon
