Mahara By-election

I do not understand why a refernce to the only instance Vijaya contested a Parliamentary election should be eliminated as 'unhelpful'.

Please correct as Vijaya contested Katana (1977), Mahara (1983) and Minneriya (1984) parliamentary electorates from Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) ticket. Katana lost by 4,500 votes Mahara lost by 45 votes after counting 3 times to Kamalawarna Jayakody (UNP) Minneriya lost by 12,000 votes — Preceding unsigned comment added by 61.245.172.35 (talk) 13:53, 3 January 2013 (UTC)
