Untitled[edit]

I moved this article from "The End is the Beginning is the End" to "The End Is the Beginning Is the End". In English, verbs are capitalized in English. Nevertheless, if there's some good reason for the "is" to be lowercase, feel free to move it back. dbenbenn | talk 23:09, 28 Mar 2005 (UTC)

Verbs may be capitalized in English, but in Song titles so-called "title-case" is used, therefore the moving should be reverted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.85.236.198 (talk) 19:06, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:SmashingPumpkins-TEITBITE.jpg[edit]

Image:SmashingPumpkins-TEITBITE.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 05:31, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Watchmen[edit]

I noticed there's been some reverting of references to the Watchmen (film) trailer. I agree that a song being in a trailer isn't notable, but it is perhaps worth mentioning when considering this article: http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=101379. Topping a chart at a retail outlet is not notable. That's like tabulating sales at Wal-Mart. If it reenters the Billboard charts that'll be something worth noting. WesleyDodds (talk) 22:17, 25 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Could someone explain to me why that line was removed? I will be shocked if I can be convinced that it is anything but an overzealous control on the content of this page... if this song is notable, then it being used in a trailer for a blockbuster film is notable especially when its appearance there is more popular than its original one. It's also verifiable and sourceable. I'll wait a few days for an answer before making yet another revert...--Hawkian (talk) 02:18, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
But it's not notable. At most there's sales rankings at a single retailer (iTunes). However, that doesn't establish enough notability to mention the Watchmen trailer. Songs by popular musicians appear in trailers all the time. It's essentially trivia. WesleyDodds (talk) 05:05, 31 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Are you forgetting that iTunes is the largest (legal) music provider, have surpassed Wal-Mart a few months ago, in the world right now? A jump on iTunes means literally tens of thousands of sales. And yes, songs by popular musicians appear in trailers all the time, but they don't cause sales jumps like this. JQFTalkContribs 14:27, 5 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
WesleyDodds, what a pathetic prick you are. You are doing it wrong! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.85.236.198 (talk) 19:09, 28 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lost Highway Lost Track?[edit]

I saw the line mentioning this song was on The Lost Highway's soundtrack. I just picked the CD off of my shelf, and it's not. The only SP song that seems to be on there is Eye. This is the American release of the CD, unless there's more than one version of this soundtrack, that fact is wrong. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.234.80.72 (talk) 15:25, 10 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I second this. I've got the American release, and the track is not on the CD. Further, it doesn't show up on iTunes or Amazon's track listing for the soundtrack. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.96.80.28 (talk) 00:43, 24 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Batman context[edit]

The article goes right into Corgan talking about Batman, with later mentions of Batman, but never before that point mentions that the song had been written for the movie. This would seem to be a little jarring to readers leaving them wondering, "WTF? Why is the article talking about Batman? How is that relevant to the song?" — al-Shimoni (talk) 02:17, 15 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
