Pronounciation & Common Form of Altamash's Name[edit]

Again, a historical name never written in English by the individual himself. The original Turkish form, I guess, might be Iltutimish or something. But in South Asia, where this individual was the first independent Sultan and in where he he has historical significance, he is invariably referred in common parlance, as Altamash.—iFaqeer | Talk to me! 20:46, Oct 29, 2004 (UTC)

Wouldn't bet on his pronouncing it only one way—just like a Muslim in the US or UK would be okay with being addressed by two or three pronounciations of his name, I think there might have been several in his time, too. Sultan or Sultana[edit]

The article's subject is known is Razia Sultana. Females were not called Sultan, which is a male title, but by Sultana, with the a suffix added. I propose moving it to Razia Sultana. --Ragib 16:00, 5 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

From what I have read, yes, the feminine form is Sultana, and yes, she is often called Razia Sultana in India/South Asia. But in this case, her title was Sultan. That was kind of the point; she also took up male dress, especially in battle. I will find references.

But either way, we should acknowledge both usages, even if the article is still titled "Razia Sultana"

Age[edit]

it says nearing the end of the text that both razia, and her husband we less that 30 years old when they died in battle; at the begining the article gives the span of her life as 1205 to 1240 : this makes her 35 years old when she died. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 59.178.64.97 (talk) 06:30, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Dubious sentence sequestered[edit]

She was defeated at Katihal by Malik Vishal Goel and later he became her boyfriend which was the first every non-martial relation in history of mankind (Aluf/ Ulugh Khan). Both she and her husband were seized by Zamindars and assassinated.

Death reason[edit]

The text says Rajia "was killed by a group of Hindus"."

This is a Hinduphobic description.

Texts available on internet says Rajia was killed by Robbers. Other texts on internet state she was killed by Jats. Sumanloh (talk) 13:24, 10 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
