Talk:Hake
Not exactly sure which fish is being described here. The hakes I know of up in the Cape Cod region are not really coastal fishes, and not particularly sought after recreationally. I'll include part of the former information for the sake of "history" but will describe those hakes that are found in the Atlantic on the east coast of the US. Rgamble

Blue Hake On Verge of Extinction?
[edit]I haven't confirmed this, but according to http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20060105/sc_space/fivedeepseafishonbrinkofextinction
the blue hake, along with other deep sea fishes, has quickly become endangered.

The European Hake is also found in the North Atlantic, and the North Sea. In Sweden it is called Kummel and it is one of the more common fish you find at a fishmarket. see:http://sv.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kummel — Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.224.199.168 (talk) 18:42, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Mixing of imperial and metric units
[edit]I am unsure why 60 pounds is used as default and then converted to kg and then metre is default converted to imperial. Unless its fishing vernacular is there some wiki standard to favour one unit of measure? 41.3.18.205 (talk) 13:13, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
