Is it Jon or John? RickK 20:26, 1 Feb 2004 (UTC)

From the sources at the bottom of the page and the image on the top right it appears to be John. SJSA 09:38, 7 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Who is Jon Riley?[edit]

On October 21 a user named Peter.riley84 replaced a great deal of the biographical content without explanation or sources. The original version described a Jon Riley born in 1805 who died in 1850 in Veracruz; the new Riley was born in 1824 and died in 1879 in Texas. (This conflicts with the claim that Robert Ryal Miller found Riley's death certificate in Veracruz, which remains in the article, though Peter Riley deleted a long quote whose legitimacy I cannot guess at.)

I don't know enough about Jon Riley to resolve the discrepant versions here. Does anybody? 68.126.129.134 (talk) 18:03, 23 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
