The article "Savant" contains text about autistic savants that belongs in that article, if anywhere. I have removed that text. Just in case someone thinks it's worth putting any of it into the autistic savant article, here it is:

A common belief is that autistic savants may use more of their brain than normal people or that they use portions of their brains in different ways than others. It has been reported that some people develop autistic savant skills after some sort of injury.
There are several variations of savant. Polyglot, savage and natural, and each has different specialities and characteristics.

Question: In what sense is Burkhard Heim supposed to be a "savant"?

Watched Catalyst and a new Savant was found

Daniel Tammet “sees” numbers and loves them for their beautiful shapes and wonderful textures.
He can calculate to hundreds of decimal points – in his head.
Researchers are keen to find out what’s going on inside Daniel Tammet’s head because – if he’s
for real – it’ll open a brand new window on how the brain works.
This week we join him on a journey from England to California where he’ll undertake a series of
challenges designed to test whether his ability with numbers goes beyond a question of memory.
On his way, he’s stopping over to meet someone who might be just like him, the world’s most
famous savant - from Catalyst (will post the link when it is posted up on the website,
currently a promo, but not in the actual archive on the site

What about Savants who can calculate dates? On the Discovery Channel, they had Savants who could do that. --66.218.12.133 03:10, 22 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cut down, C/P'd, GFDL, etc.[edit]
