Bratwurst[edit]

What does this article mean when it says the city is the “home of bratwurst”? Perhaps someone could elaborate on that point, to elevate it from being mere trivia to something worthy of being in an encyclopedia. --Rob Kennedy 20:49, 24 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Spaceport Sheboygan[edit]

I have heard rumors, backed by some websites of varying reputability, that Sheboygan has recently sought to create a space program. Can anyone find authentic sources to back this up, filling me and the world in on the details? It could be a very interesting addition to the article. Fishal 00:50, 6 October 2006 (UTC)

Two of the first three Google links were to area newspapers.
  • Marley, Patrick (2005-11-28). "Bill envisions liftoff for Sheboygan". Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
  • Litke, Erik (2006-04-02). "Countdown to Spaceport". Sheboygan Press.
Both mention Wisconsin SB-352. --Rob Kennedy 04:29, 6 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Etymology[edit]

What is the origin of this place name? Badagnani (talk) 00:07, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal[edit]

Sheboygan Hmong Memorial seems like a point of interest in Sheboygan, but not notable enough in its own right to have its own article. Mesconsing (talk) 15:47, 24 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose It is unrelated to the city (except that its inside) and a notable war monument in its own right to American Hmong people. Just because it happens to be in the city doesn't mean that it should be merged in. I have added multiple independent reliable sources to the article. If Monmouth can document every small place, plant, nut and bolt in the village then this national monument is far more notable. Royalbroil 01:47, 25 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose merge. It's not unusual for Wikipedia to have articles for war memorials (see Category:Military monuments and memorials in the United States) and this is the only Hmong Vietnam memorial I've heard of. There appear to be sufficient references to support a stub there. Gobōnobō + c 01:43, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The result was merge into Sheboygan, Wisconsin. -- Mesconsing (talk) 21:19, 16 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The Sheboygan Fire and Police Departments are not notable independent of the city itself. Their articles are not likely to become substantial. Recommend merging with city article. -- Mesconsing (talk) 14:35, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support. Both are unsourced articles with minimal content. I think they'd fit perfectly into this article. The articles would have to experience huge growth before they would need their own article. Royalbroil 15:08, 24 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
  • Support. Asher Heimermann (talk) 05:39, 26 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Business and industry list[edit]

The Business and industry section is a meaningless list that does not meet the criteria for embedded WP lists. There is absolutely no explanation as to what the section covers. Are these businesses headquartered in Sheboygan, or just located there? Are they the largest employers in the city? Or are they just some businesses that occurred to Asher Heimermann off the top of his head? What is the reason for them being listed there? Lists must have criteria so other editors can determine what to include and what to exclude. This section fails on all counts. Do not remove the tag until the problems with the section are fixed. 32.218.36.99 (talk) 23:38, 24 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I removed those businesses that have no articles and just kept the ones that have articles. Thank you-RFD (talk) 13:08, 18 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Public Beach Photo Integrity[edit]

The photo of the public beach on lake Michigan has flagrantly been modified. The boat in the foreground of the photo is from another photo altogether. This seriously compromises the integrity of this photo and another should be chosen to takes it's place.

I just noticed the same thing and removed the manipulated image. --170.133.5.57 (talk) 19:52, 21 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Media[edit]

I find the content of the "Media" section to be about right for a municipality of this size and NOT to be overly detailed. I am leaving the template alone for now but feel that in this area we should err on the side of more reliable data, not less of it. 72.104.149.197 (talk) 23:48, 3 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Modified Images[edit]

The majority on this page seems to have been modified/photoshopped in some way, with ultra-saturated colors or impossibly perfect skies. Even the main photo looks almost computer-generated.

Is this allowed?

@Moviebuff1921: I agree. Let me look for some more encyclopedic images. Magnolia677 (talk) 21:36, 31 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
