Should this page have links to sites that propagate the "Egyptian myth?" The UK Club spins quite a few yarns with no source materail as usual.

Merged Ind Issues into one Mul Issues Header.

I am removing the individual tags for issues and placing a a multiple issues header, as a couple of the sources needed tags are outdated and more issues need to be addressed.

1) Sources needed. Many sections contain no sources, including appearance temperament and care.

2) Original research. I decided to add this as well, although it could be argued redundant considering that sources are needed. My main concern is the unsourced sections about the temperment of the dog, particularly if someone were reading this to determine whether or not to own a pharoaoh hound.

3) Condense/Repetition. Many sections are redundant. An easily noticeable example is the first time of 'temperment and care'. Many sections either need to be removed or expanded. For example the competitions and shows section. This info doesn't seem very relevent imo. Maybe it would be better to replace or supplement this with clubs, numbers etc.

I will try to come back and make some of these improvements myself, but it will be at the bottom of the list, in hopes that someone who knows about this dogs (or even dog breeds for that matter), would be better suited for the job.

On the desert: Jean-Léon Gérôme

This romanticised painting by Jean-Léon Gérôme quite clearly does not represent in any way the "Pharaoh Hound". The location & period of the work, as well as the nationality of the artist, plus the conformation of the two dogs, can only suggest they are sloughi-type dogs, or idealised "Oriental greyhounds". The presence of the image on the page only serves to prolong the myth of the Ancient Egyptian origin of the Kelb tal-fenek.--Richard Hawkins (talk) 13:06, 9 November 2012 (UTC)

There's nothing to apologise for, Aspening – thanks for keeping an eye open for copyvio! Well, over three years have passed. I've just run another check and found no evidence of copying (the page has been substantially rewritten, a good deal of that by me). National dog of Malta?

Does Malta have a "National Dog"? If so, by what legislative instrument was it made so, and when? I had expected to find answers on www.gov.mt, but found that it was silent on the subject (this page in particular might be expected to mention an important national symbol such as a dog). I've removed the claim from the article pending confirmation that this is more than just a wild claim made by journalists incapable of distinguishing fact from fantasy.
