Implausible citation[edit]

The intro refers to "a pamphlet" published in 1738 re. labor theory of value, but give no citation. I added "citation needed", then went to look for it -- I could not find any trace of such a pamphlet or article. The nearest I could find was Daniele Bernoulli, "Specimen Theoriae Novae de Mensura Sortis" (https://archive.org/details/SpecimenTheoriaeNovaeDeMensuraSortis), but it's not clear that's what someone intended. Recommend deleting this reference entirely unless someone can find the/a relevant source. Caveat: I am not an economist. Perhaps the reference is obvious to an actual economist -- if you are that economist, please add a specific citation.

Sounds bogus. Let's just delete it and let the original author improve it if they ever revisit it Palehose5 (talk) 02:15, 7 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Missing Marginal Theory of Value[edit]

Missing the marginal theory of value, which is the dominant theory of value today. Also, pet peeve of mine, why are articles like this always awash in marxist and post-modernist information. Shouldn't LTV and ETV be in a section headed "Classical Theories of Value"? Where is Smith's 'adding up of costs' theory of value? Why are there four marxist theories of value here, zero modern theories of value, no non-marxist classical theories, and no random weird competing theories of value like Sraffian? 73.163.178.158 (talk) 16:55, 13 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely a glaring omission, and Sraffa as well deserves to be included. I would say at least some of the Marxist theories of value are "modern" in the sense that they have a renewed relevance and growth in popularity in recent years, but they themselves aren't well or completely explained. Perhaps the book: Frederick Harry Pitts. Value. ISBN 978-1509535668. would serve as a good launching-pad for a reconfiguration of this page. Amkoir (talk) 03:32, 18 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
