Journey into the imagination as it originally was must be restored!

Sadly we don't have any power over Disney Co.'s corporate decisions. -- user:zanimum
someone needs to rework the tenses. Concluding 13:25, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

This article desperately needs to be cleaned up. There is a lot of bias as well. Elleohelle

Good news, Dreamfinder is apparently returning [1] --FigmentJedi 00:24, 17 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Peoplemover vs. Omnimover[edit]

The JII vehicles were not omnimovers: after they went through the loading area they seperated into trains with cars of five much like how the Peoplemovers went through the load area continuously and then seperated into trains. I believe someone should either replace the term 'omnimover' with 'peoplemover' or simply refer to them as trains or ride vehicles. To clarify the differences for those who confuse these two Disney ride systems...

Omnimover: Continuously moving stream of vehicles without speed changes
Peoplemover: Vehicles which enter a load area continuously and then seperate into individual cars or trains. Peoplemovers may have speed changes and almost always after leaving the load area.

The cars of the ride vehicles are Omnimovers, However the ride vehicle itself would be considered as a Peoplemover. Pifase2 (talk) 15:20, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Opening[edit]

The opening was in 1983? Is this correct? I thought it was a opening day attraction. --blm07 10:52, 23 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It opened in 1983. Magic Journeys preceded it. 1ne 21:43, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
The pavilion opened in 1983 with only the 3-d show, Magic Journeys opened. The ride opened in the main building in 1983 because of technical difficulties during the blimp scene. If it weren't for the trouble the imagineers were having on that scene, the ride would have opened opened in 1982 along with the rest of the pavilion.

Fair use rationale for Image:Journeyintoimagination.jpg[edit]

Image:Journeyintoimagination.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 06:15, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I agree ... restore[edit]

I agree figment was my favorite character from EPCOT. He was the EPCOT mascot of sorts that never quite took off -- I remember Figment things for sale all over the park. I was extremely disappointed with the Eric Idle thing (1999-2001) and STILL think the latest incarnation to be a half-cooked, poor half-rehab job. But judge me as you will -- I also want Captain EO back!

Dreamfinder ship gone[edit]

About 5 or 6 years ago, one of the original Dreamfinder ships was sold by WDW on eBay. It didn't sell for very much and required pick-up with a tractor-trailer due to its size and weight. I would imagine that all the original gear was sold or otherwise disposed of. I've been a quiet supporter of a return to the original ride, which I dearly miss, but wonder how possible that is with all the material gone. Drgitlow 04:18, 2 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I doubt the Imagineers would completely duplicate the original ride, and even if they were, they would most likely build new versions of the original props and figures. If there is going to be a fourth refurb, I'd imagine (no pun intended) that they'll try to capture the spirit of the original while creating a new and original ride experience. The Dreamfinder's Ship can still be found at Epcot today. Pifase2 (talk) 15:18, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Voice of Dreamfinder[edit]

Many sites list Chuck McCann as the voice of Dreamfinder, but according to this PDF, the voice was Ron Schneider after Chuck was "let go." So maybe Chuck did voice him, but apparently, not throughout the entire attraction. --blm07 19:43, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Both Chuck McCann and Ron Schneider voiced the Dreamfinder. Pifase2 (talk) 15:16, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed Merger: ImageWorks: The What-If Labs[edit]

I propose that ImageWorks: The What-If Labs be merged into this page. The page is a sub on its own, and ImageWorks is at the exist of Journey into Imagination. If it shouldn't be merged here, perhaps both pages could be merged into the Imagination! (Epcot) page. I know that a lot of Dinsey Fans want to have a page per attraction, land, and pavilion, but from a content perspective there's just not enough to justify so many separate pages. Especially when you consider that the entire pavilion isn't that popular to begin with GeekInParadise (talk) 21:52, 19 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, The page should be merged with ImageWorks: The What-If Labs. Pifase2 (talk) 15:12, 3 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Director?[edit]

What is the source of information on Garth Jennings as director? I can find literally nothing about it online. 2603:6011:6400:FCF9:70A6:BEDB:CFBE:C17C (talk) 17:47, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
