Requested move[edit]

Lens → Lens (disambiguation) and Lens (optics) → Lens: I realize that there are many major entries on Lens. But most of them relate to or derive from the optical meaning, and the optics use is still the primary use. Aside from the three places and the person, Laser Engineered Net Shaping and Lens (genus) are the only ones not falling under Lens (optics). I think it makes more sense to have the optical sense at Lens.----

- I get 195 links to RC Lens, including the 10 to Racing Club de Lens, which puts RC Lens above Photographic lens on the list. This fits my experience when I disambiguated the links to here weeks ago: there were more links that needed to go to Lens (optics) than anywhere else, but there were a lot of links that should have gone to Photographic lens, RC Lens and Lens, Pas-de-Calais (mostly references to football games played in the stadium there, against RC Lens.)--Srleffler 23:44, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, lens (genus) is related too: lens (optics) and lens (geometry) both get their name from the similarity of their shape to that of a lentil, a seed of a plant of genus lens. I don't have a problem with the renaming, though, as long as it's done right. I disambiguated ~~most of~~ the links to Lens weeks ago, but there will probably be new ones. Someone needs to go through those carefully and change each to the appropriate page, being careful to distinguish particularly between lens (optics) and photographic lens.--Srleffler 12:14, 6 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sort order[edit]

"Kamera lens (biology)" was moved down under "Lens (hydrology)", but why is it supposed to be in that order; don't we start by comparing the first letters (K and L)? —Kri (talk) 13:22, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
