Inconsistency with Macho Women[edit]

Wiki entry doesn't match the MWwG source. According to the Macho Women page, Richard Tucholka is listed under the women characters, even though they say he is indeed not a woman.

Under Macho Women, their page says: " Richard Tucholka (U/u): Obscure game designer Richard Tucholka is not a woman, but he's so incredibly macho he belonged here, among a gaggle of babes that are, collectively, barely enough to satisfy his manly appetites. "

Wiki line, currently unchanged: ' Like Isaac Asimov, Tucholka became a "Macho Target" - essentially a non-player character - in the game Macho Women with Guns.[3] '

Discussion[edit]

"His "Uncle Richard's Trash Video Roundup" has packed rooms at many Midwestern science fiction conventions." This strikes me as self-aggrandizing promotion. This is an opinion, not a fact. I think chunks of this article should be edited to a less commercial bias regarding TriTacGames. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kwdragon (talkcontribs) 01:42, 7 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just curious as to what needs to be cleaned up in this article. I'm new to this. --Kedamono 05:08, May 14, 2005 (UTC)

I could've sworn that links existed on this page when I started. I believe I've put back the two I remember seeing; going back into History didn't SHOW any external links. Gah.
I'll keep an eye out for more info on Richard. I've known him since 1983. =Chica= 04:12, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I did a little tidying up to make it more encyclopedic and less like a program book bio from a con. --Orange Mike 03:08, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Mike! I do appreciate your hard work here. Kedamono (talk) 06:38, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Just heard that he passed away. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2601:40A:8002:5E50:A81D:4667:F753:4C3D (talk) 02:42, 28 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

How to find cites?[edit]

The following was pulled from this article:

Tucholka has been called "one of the unsung heroes of Role Playing"; he was also voted "One of the Good Guys" by Knights of the Dinner Table and called "Michigan's Gaming Guru".

This was pulled because the person wanted a citation. O-Kay, one of the cites, the one by the Knights of the Dinner Table, should be findable, but the others are probably from conventions where Richard was a guest of honor or in the con program book. Because of that, it's next to impossible to find a citation for them. I know this stuff is supposed to be verifiable, but how do you do that for a introduction speech at a con or testimonial dinner?Kedamono 02:40, 6 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

That kind of thing doesn't constitute a reliable source. --Orange Mike | Talk 21:10, 7 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
So, something that half of the game designers will swear to, but because it's not written down in a book/magazine/ or other "citable" source, it can't be put into an article? That's crazy. That means you're going to miss half of the history of anyone because no one wrote down a quote that was said about them or by them. I wonder how many biographies in Wikipedia have the same fault, but no one has cited the article for that? Kedamono (talk) 06:35, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
That's how we work; and all our articles are supposed to have citations, but especially those on living persons. --Orange Mike | Talk 00:44, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
