Inspiration[edit]

Origin/Recording[edit]

Ultimately, in my opinion, the article will have a section (augmenting and maybe replacing 'Musical Style') that ties together: Brubeck's inspiration (Eurasia), Morello's instigation (his 5/4 ability), Desmond's mandated creativity [being delegated by Brubeck to compose (main/bridge) melodies in 5/4 time], and the tortuous recording process (recounted superbly in Stephen Crist's 2019 book 'Dave Brubeck's Time Out', pp. 117-123). Suitable photos[edit]

Can anyone add a suitable contemporaneous photo of the Quartet together or Paul Desmond alone, e.g. in the recording studio, that doesn't destroy copyright? Any college students out there whose institution subscribes to a free-use images database? Some fantastic colour photos of the Time Out recording sessions exist but they're owned by the estate of the late Don Hunstein, Columbia Records staff photographer at that time, or by Sony Music. Team-B-Vital Improvement Drive[edit]
