Article title[edit]

NZB is a file format. Maybe it would make more sense to rename this article to .NZB? Djames 16:57, 5 Jan 2005 (UTC)

NZB is not a protocol. Just a file format in plain text using xml-based tags. NZB contains the list of newsgroups where the release was posted, poster's name, subject and file list, and, for every file posted, a list of its segments and the size and message id of each segment.

Explanation severly lacking "These websites create NZB files out of what is needed to be downloaded. Using this concept, headers would not be downloaded hence the NZB method is quicker and more bandwidth-efficient." Controversy[edit]

The semi-recent controveries could be listed regarding NZB sites. For example the MPAA filing papers against various nzb sites such as nzbzone.com and them latter closing down as a result. Some technical details.[edit]

We consider compression to be outside the context of the spec; it's normally going to be transmitted over HTTP, so HTTP compression is expected to be used there. -Fweeky (talk) 22:23, 22 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]
