First Treaty of Rome[edit]

Need change the article's name in First Treaty of Rome because in October 2006 in Rome was signed the Second Treaty (European Constitution)--87.17.103.92 15:11, 18 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Daughter articles[edit]

Should other articles be made daughter articles and summarized here? For example: Article 81 and Article 82. On the other hand, that may duplicate information in other articles. Euratom[edit]

Having Euratom has a footnote in this article isn't right, there ought to be two seperate articles or, considering the lack of indiviudal information, have the article as "Treaties of Rome". Opinions?- J Logan ^t: 20:59, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rewrite needed[edit]

The following two constructions are in the Renaming section

"The 1993 Treaty of Maastricht established the European Union with the EEC becoming one of its three pillars, the European Community.

Splitting the article[edit]

While I certainly appreciate the reason behind naming this article as treaties (plural) of Rome, I think it an awkward compromise. "Treaties of Rome" is not an expression I can ever remember hearing outside of Wikipedia. There were indeed two treaties signed in Rome on the same day but — in English at least — people refer to the "Treaty of Rome" and mean the EEC Treaty.

I'd suggest splitting the Article by:

moving this article to Treaty of Rome making appropriate adjustments, and
creating a new article at Euratom Treaty in respect of that treaty.

I agree; this is a bit of a forced marriage of two very different things. The "treaty of Rome"-page should have a clear disambiguation regarding the i) present consolidated version (treaty establishing the EU) and Euratom... L.tak (talk) 15:47, 21 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What is the TEEC ?[edit]

The third paragraph commences with a reference to the "TEEC" without prior mention or explication of this acronym. A casual web search leads me to understand this as meaning "Treaty establishing the European Economic Community", is this the same as "TFEU" ? Should it not be cleat what this is before using the acronym ?

I came here to learn about a subject that is new to me so I'm afraid I cannot correct this article myself. Merge[edit]
