Fair use rationale for File:Sdale seal.gif[edit]

File:Sdale seal.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Reverted changes[edit]

User:Wikid77 has made changes to the article twice recently which were reverted. I have asked him to comment here before making the changes again. I think the problems are mostly stylistic but need to be discussed first.

  1. The seal at 290px is far too large. Something needs to be done about it because in its present condition it too small but 290 is to big. Maybe 200? 225 at the most?
  2. NOLF Summerdale is a fine addition but it doesn't go in the lead and it shouldn't be bolded especially twice. Perhaps it deserves its on article if someone wants to create it. Summerdale is a very small town but the article should still be as good as possible. JodyB talk 12:08, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
  • Okay, I resized the seal to 225px, and it does look better. The addition of "NOLF Summerdale Airport" is for a redirection title, hence the bolded text in the lede section. Sorry for the confusion. There are hundreds of small airports which need descriptions (and road maps, but that is another contentious subject). Please help add other NOLF airports. BTW, an article is needed for "Foley High School" if you could help with that. I've been very busy. Thanks for the input. -Wikid77 (talk) 13:05, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The seal looks better. But what I don't understand is why you don't just create an article on Summerdale Airport instead of a redirect. Are you even certain the airport is in the town limits? The paragraph contains enough information to at least create a stub. As it stands, the article is weighed down with a lead that looks bad and a paragraph that far outweighs anything else in the article. Is there some reason we don't have a Summerdale airport article?
