I earned my Ph.D. in Industrial and organizational psychology at the University of Minnesota in 2009. I have published several academic articles, starting with work I conducted as an undergraduate in the academic journal Computers in Human Behavior on the relationship between personality and Internet usage.

I have been a long-time user of Wikipedia and Slashdot. I also developed a very popular set of mapping tutorials for the PC video game Jedi Knight II while I was still in college at the University of Tennessee. Web design has long been a hobby of mine, and I am reasonably fluent in PHP and SQL. However, professionally I am more likely to use R and Python for statistical analysis and machine learning.
