Emcee[edit]

I think it should be said that "emcee" isn't a real word. It is a corruption of the abbreviation. AmE is not the only English language (or any language) to invent words and spellings, so don't let ignorance or arrogance bias your thinking. You can find numerous invented spellings in BE and other languages. It's part of language development and evolution. Rappers trying to redefine the term[edit]

I have a strong inclination to think that the rappers redefining the term MC are only doing so because they simply don't know what the term means themselves. Throughout history, spellings have been changed and even the meanings of words have changed due simply to ignorance. Please bear this in mind when rappers will undoubtedly try to update this article Owen214 (talk) 10:30, 30 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In the Boy Scouts of America, the Master of Ceremonies is an adult or a Scout who leads a Court of Honor, specifically an Eagle Scout Court of Honor^[1] (one which is held to present a scout with an Eagle Scout rank). It is optional to award merit badges or rank advancements at the Eagle Scout Court of Honor, rather than making the rest of the troop wait for another, non-Eagle, Court of Honor.
