I moved this to Christchurch (disambiguation) from Christchurch, and moved Christchurch, New Zealand to Christchurch. My reasoning is that the Christchurch in New Zealand is by far the more common use of the name, and it is standard in Wikipedia to use the most common name as the main page. I wanted to get this done as soon as possible because the number of links in New Zealand articles is increasing rapidly. I have done the same thing with Dunedin, but have deliberately avoided doing this for Nelson and Napier, where usage is more ambiguous. Ben Arnold 14:24, 1 May 2004 (UTC)[reply]

Christchurch (New Zealand electorate)[edit]

Oppose. The NZ one is much larger and much more well known. I'm from England and had heard of the one from NZ but never knew about the one in my own country. The NZ one also seems to average 30 odd thousand views per month while the disambiguation page only gets a few hundred suggesting that most people arriving at the NZ one have reached the article they wanted.
