No, "kk" is NOT a German Slang for "kurz kacken"! I just delete this.—Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.232.214.67 (talk) 19:18, 6 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

KK[edit]

@Whoever removed Krishnakumar menon. He is credited everywhere as KK, so how can you say, that this list is only meant for people who are referred to as KK and remove his name? --Rsrikanth05 (talk) 07:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

KK _IS_ a german internet slang for 'kurz kacken', its just not used very often.. I am german, i know it.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 88.68.230.137 (talk) 21:03, 11 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If this is not one of the primary topics, what is, Bkonrad? Certainly, MOS:DABORDER instructs that most likely uses should come first. Certainly, KK, the production code for the 1967 Doctor Who serial The Faceless Ones is less common a use of KK than kabushiki kaisha. By the definition of WP:primary topic and WP:Primary redirect, KK should redirect to kabushiki kaisha if that were the primary topic. It does not and therefore by definition is not the primary topic -- unless you intend to propose moving the disambiguation page to KK (disambiguation) and changing KK to be a redirect. The format and arrangement in your edit doesn't comply in any respect of WP:MOSDAB. olderwiser 10:46, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Bkonrad: How do I request a redirect be made? {{requested move}} isn't right, and {{merge to}} doesn't seem right either. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 11:33, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I asked for help in IRC and was told that WP:RM is, indeed, the proper mechanism, and I misunderstood something on the page. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 12:55, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Psiĥedelisto: Who claimed that KK, the production code for the 1967 Doctor Who serial The Faceless Ones was more common a use of KK than kabushiki kaisha? I added that entry, and certainly never made any such claim either then or since. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 20:54, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Redrose64: My understanding of MOS:DABORDER, which can easily be wrong, is that the claim is inherent in the order. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 20:58, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Psiĥedelisto: Per WP:D2D, there are two types of disambiguation page. The first type (example: Venus (disambiguation)) begins by briefly describing the primary topic at the base name (Venus), then lists other meanings. The second type (example: Mercury) lists all meanings because there is no primary topic. KK is of the second type, because there is no primary topic. Most entries are grouped by topic (People, Places, etc.) with little regard for which are more likely. Exceptionally, where a few topics are far more likely than others but still not primary, we can list them first, as done at Mercury. Certes (talk) 21:21, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Certes: Thank you. I misunderstood what MOS:DABORDER is trying to convey. Somehow I'd never read WP:PTOPIC before. Thanks for educating me. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 21:33, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Psiĥedelisto: Or more simply, I added the Doctor Who one under Arts and media because that was the most logical section (yes it's the first section, but the order that the six main sections are arranged in is purely alphabetical except that Other uses is last). I added the Doctor Who one at the bottom of the Arts and media list because it was arguably the least common use of the five in that section. I certainly had no intention of usurping the precedence of anything else on the page. --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 22:28, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

KKKK (disambiguation) – I propose that KK become a redirect to kabushiki kaisha, and that that page have added to the top:
The current page, is, in my view, out-MOS:DABORDER. It has many uncommon uses of "KK" above kabushiki kaisha. I had thought this would be an uncontroversial change, because as far as I'm concerned, there are only two common uses of KK: the Japanese corporation, and kk, as in, okay in texting language. However, I found myself reverted by Bkonrad. Therefore, I request third parties give their opinion to resolve the dispute. Psiĥedelisto (talkcontribs) please always ping! 12:55, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose, no evidence provided to establish that there is a primary topic. page views data indicates the Japanese corporation is not primary topic for the initialism (if anything, it suggests the Indian singer is the primary topic). olderwiser 13:09, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose and leave as is. It's hard to tell what the primary topic might be. Many page views will record access via more common terms but an unknown number come from referring to the entries as KK or variants. Certes (talk) 13:32, 21 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
