Update[edit]

This needs to be updated to be abreast of the 2011 Canterbury earthquake. 65.93.15.125 (talk) 12:52, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Visual art[edit]

I had linked William M. Hodgkins to Sumner because he painted in the area during 1870 and there are 3 paintings of his held by the National Library. I am not quite sure how to work these into the article, yet, but was thinking on having a separate section devoted to depictions of Sumner scenes by various artists. There was also the container art after the earthquakes, including a news article or two about a current artist who has a 6 metre square reproduction of one of his artworks stolen, twice! More to tell in areas of Architecture, Cinema, Churches, Town Planning and Development, as well as Historic Places, Lost Heritage and even forgotten Street names. But I don't want to go overboard just yet. - Cameron Dewe (talk) 03:44, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
