citation to story of PHP needs fixing?[edit]

Danish-Canadian?[edit]

What "Danish-Canadian" is supposed to mean? He lives in Canada but his parents are Danish? One of his parents is Danish, the other - Canadian? Please make it more clear. --Daggerstab 09:44, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I asked. He was born to Danish parents while they were stationed in Greenland and moved Denmark when he was 3 and then to Canada when he was 12. BASc?[edit]

It wasn't immediately clear to me what this meant, and the context it's used in baffles me. 'Bachelor of Arts and Science in Systems Design Engineering' seems like it could have multiple meanings. WP:MOSDEF? --MaXiMiUS 18:56, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I asked for permission from Lerdorf to use the picture of himself in the wikipedia article and got this reply:

Computer scientist?[edit]

Can Lerdorf be accurately described as a computer scientist, as opposed to a programmer or a software engineer? The article doesn't describe any contributions made by Lerdorf to the computer science literature, for example. Neilc (talk) 07:14, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Picture - hair, or hat?[edit]

Incorrect information[edit]

"[...] he also came up with the LIMIT clause [...]. It is the origin of the LIMIT clauses found in MySQL and PostgreSQL."

Category:Greenlandic Inuit people[edit]

In 2014, this category was added to Category:Greenlandic Inuit people, but no citations were given to verify this. Is it true that Rasmus Lerdorf is of Greenlandic Inuit ancestry? Jarble (talk) 05:34, 28 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This seems to be untrue. Another comment on this talk page notes "He was born to Danish parents while they were stationed in Greenland", and this is also supported by the photo AFAICT. I'll remove this categorization now. /PerLundberg (talk) 19:42, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
