Not colonial[edit]

Colonial implies at some level being under the power of a foriegn authorit. Nanvcy Ward never recognied auhority beyond the Cherokees. He should not be classed as colonial. Her father may have been of European descent (although this is disputed) and her husband may have been European, but this no more made her European than any other out marriage. She lived in Cherokee land, in a place under Cherokee government. She was not within the direct area of British control.John Pack Lambert (talk) 23:08, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
