Title of article[edit]

Haven't read the Dune cycle front to back in about 20 years, but I am certain that Jessica but was Leto's legal concubine, but never married him because she was not of noble birth (as far as was known) and the Duke needed to keep open the possibility of marrying an heiress of another Great House of the Imperium.

IIRC, she was never called as "Jessica Atreides" (or at least, was only so called after Leto died). Thus, wouldn't this article be more properly titled "Lady Jessica"? Someone with more familiarity with the original Dune trilogy needs to chime in.

It's true that she was never married to Leto, but history remembers her as Jessica Atreides. I suppose her birth name would be Jessica Nerus, but no one is going to be searching for that name. Lady Jessica would be, in my opinion, fine, as long as a redirect is set up. Noneofyourbusiness 23:27, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Can we update the image to the 2020 version? Since the original content is 30 years old? Triosdeity (talk) 10:29, 10 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Gaius Helen Mohiam[edit]

is it even fully considered canon that GHM is considered jessica's mother, it should at least be made clear that those are in the prequels and not the main part of the canon in the infobox, 2.100.205.41 (talk) 00:18, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Already seems OK to me. "Tanidia Nerus" as Jessica's mother is in Frank Herbert's novels, and the Mohiam aspect is mentioned in a footnote and attributed to the prequels.— TAnthonyTalk 17:14, 4 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
but it is mis leading to have the tanidia nerus re-direct to gaius helen mohiam 2.100.205.41 (talk) 16:39, 5 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
