Global Village[edit]

Global Village is an ad for an Austrailian TV show. Tractor 12:40, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)

The correct link is Global village and refers to the internet and telecommunications "shrinking" the world. This article needs to have more references, but is better than World Community which appears to be mostly an essay. CQ 16:57, 17 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

International community[edit]

This should probably turn into a redirect to International community. CQ 11:03, 18 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Retrying merge[edit]

Ignoring the decade old merge attempt above this one, I suggest (again?) to merge this page into international community. The article is currently serving no purpose and has pretty much no potential for growth (just look at its history). Unsourced parts have been added and removed over the years and all that remains is a wiktionary-worthy definition of "international community". I think 11+ years is enough to realize that this article is in no way going to meet our standards. Bataaf van Oranje (Prinsgezinde) (talk) 12:52, 17 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Strong oppose - @Prinsgezinde: global community / world community is not (necessarily) the same as international community. Hence they shouldn't be merged. if you find this page is lacking info add to it. I might do so at a later time. --Fixuture (talk) 21:06, 22 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Respectfully, why would I add to a page that in my view has no definition? I never see "world community" used and, judging from this article's content, neither do most others. Bataaf van Oranje (Prinsgezinde) (talk) 13:37, 28 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
You don't need to add to it. Also you could add to the international community article instead which probably has a clearer definition as of right now. Some do use this term, and it certainly is distinct from "international community" even though both terms overlap sometimes to a certain extend. I can't stress enough how important that distinction is here. --Fixuture (talk) 18:33, 6 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Fixuture: I have never heard of the term "world community" before either; I've only heard the terms "international community" and "global community". Nuke (talk) 11:42, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Comment I don't know about English, but in my native language, there is a difference between "World Community" and "international community". 2001:8003:8600:EF00:CD6C:6CCF:3F21:18BF (talk) 15:09, 18 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Support but only for political portions. Nuke (talk) 11:41, 24 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
