originally claimed[edit]

This article originally claimed that 'no war but the class war' was a parody of the Muslim saying 'there is no God but God', which is almost certainly untrue.

whilst it may appear from the point of view of the above writer that the above claim is "almost uncertainly untrue" this reveals yhe ignorance of the writer rather than a state of affairs which is the case Harry Potter 17:27, 16 Nov 2003 (UTC)

The claim is clearly not "common knowledge" nor has any source or citation been given for this supposed relationship. 24.22.58.51 10:17, 7 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This saying actually relates to the Leninist concept of social-chauvinism, whereby the ruling bourgeois deflects attention and sentiments from economic hardship to foreign 'enemies', so it also relates to petitebourgeois nationalism, which seeks to divide workers based on nationality, race, religion etc. Social-chauvinists in Lenin's case were 'socialists' (social-democrats etc) who sided with the ruling bourgeois in the event of war, and advocated that workers kill workers from other countries 'for the fatherland'. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 144.131.35.5 (talk) 09:13, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
