About Me[edit]
A longtime user of computer-based communication, I began by visiting Austin, Texas BBSs in 1984 with my first bought computer, a 128k Macintosh, and a 1200-baud modem. I received my B.A. in Arts and Humanities from Colorado State University in 1993 and an M.F.A. in Creative Writing from American University in 2001. I briefly taught writing as an adjunct faculty at American University (where I pioneered the study of graphic novels as a basis for writing assignments) and George Mason University. My web site, "First Impressions," was one of the first book review sites on the web; it is now available as an online e-book. I have written one novel and am working on my second, while working primarily now as an independent consultant.
