Of course, some liberals also allege that conservative-owned news outlets do the same thing. De Borchgrave is a senior editor of the Washington Times which unashamedly describes itself as a voice for conservatism. Whether or not the Times, or any other news organization, itself spikes news, or harbors a liberal or conservative bias, is a matter of opinion among the organization's readers, listeners, and/or viewers.

This argument about the "same thing" is out of place in a discussion about a novel. I think the ideas expressed in the above 3 sentences belong in the spiking article.

Oh, and BTW, if there's anyone who claims that conservative newspapers in general, or the Wash Times in particular, have ever "spiked" stories in the way de Borchgrave novel claims, I do hope they will provide an example at the spiking and/or Washington Times pages. --Uncle Ed 16:33, 8 Dec 2003 (UTC)

So, what's the beef? de Borchgrave accuses liberal controlled media of spiking. Some liberals accuse conservatives of spiking. Why do you insist that only liberal spiking occurs? Who the hell really knows except readers, etc? Mbstone 23:14, 8 Dec 2003 (UTC)
